Camp Info and Background
Dear Parent,
Thank you for your inquiry into Day Camp In The Park – A Camper’s Paradise. Our camp is located in New York on a magnificent 500 acre nature preserve, complete with nature trails, and our own three mile pristine lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, water biking and fishing.
We have a complete sports activity program including tennis, softball, basketball, soccer, and football. We even have our own Skateboarding Park! In addition, we have a creative, well rounded program including improvisation, an adventure/nature/challenge program, Arts & Crafts, nature-craft, karate, climbing wall, and our own Water Park complete with a water climbing wall and trampoline. Swim instruction is provided daily by certified Red Cross Swim Instructors. Children swim in our heated pool and majestic lake.
Besides our regular camp there are many special programs. Our Nursery Program is for our four and five year olds. There is one counselor per three children in this program. The C.I.T. Program (9th and 10th graders) is geared for the young adults who like to play and want to work in a camp in the future. Furthermore, we offer a Mini-Travel Program for children between the ages of ten and fifteen. This program will include a weekly day trip for six weeks. Some of our prior trips were the following: Mountain Creek Water Park, Orange County fair, Rye Playland, Sports World and Yankee Stadium. In addition to all these wonderful experiences we have a one-week Sleepaway Camp Experience during week 3. Children are picked up Monday morning and return home Friday night!
Our superior facility (over 20 indoor cabins, gym, cafeteria), creative program (special events weekly), talented and mature staff, and competitive price (including door to door transportation) make our camp very attractive. A hot lunch program is available at a small fee. I look forward to your questions and meeting your child (ren) at one of our Open Houses. We hope that you will join us for our 30th anniversary!
Sincerely,
Ken Glotzer
